What are the side effects of the most common antidepressants?

Answered By Dane Loveless, Editor

The most commonly used anti-depressants also have notable side effects that many people may feel. They do not signify that the anti-depressant doesn’t work. The most common side effects are:

- Nausea

- Diarrhea

- Sedation or insomnia

- Increased sweating

- Shakiness

Some of the other anti-depressants also lessens libido. Side effects commonly go away after the a few days upon ingestion. As the dose increases, these side effects may return. It is important to inform your doctor if the side effects persist and doesn’t go away.
